The Gingerbread Man

The children in Monkeys were reading the story of 'The Gingerbread Man'. We were having a discussion about why he didn't want to cross the river, " I don't think he can swim" said one child, " He doesn't like the water" said another. To extend the learning, we used a cup of water and some biscuits. The children soon realised that the biscuit would break if its in the water too long. "Oh no, it's melted", "mines broken", and "mine's gone now" they said!
